Alana 10 months

Alana is now officially 10 months old!  So much has been happening so fast.  In the last couple of weeks, Alana has learned how to walk using her push toy, she started to wave hello and good-bye, and she loves to applaud herself when she does something good.  Alana now has 4 teeth total.  She has 2 on top and 2 on bottom.

Jeff and I recently sleep trained Alana, so she now sleeps through the night for the most part.  She sleeps around 8:30 pm until 6 am.  It's been nice to finally get some sleep!

Alana has become more verbal and expressive about things she likes and dislikes.  She is able to let us know when she is full by blocking her mouth when we try to feed her.  She is able to eat "puffs" and crackers.  We are slowly introducing new foods to her.

I've already started making plans for her first birthday party!

Christmas 2010

The Holidays have come and gone!  We spent Christmas Eve at Jeff's parents house and we had a great dinner there.  Alana was able to participate in the Annual Gift Opening Extravaganza!  She received many cool toys from family.

We spent Christmas Day in Tahoe with our friends Brian, Ellie and Nash!  There was so much snow and Alana and Nash became great friends!

Alana Crawls!

Alana is now officially 9 months old.  It has been an amazing couple of weeks!  Everything seems like it is happening all at once. Her last accomplishment was sitting up on her own.  Well, she hasn't stopped there!  Soon after she learned how to sit up, she started trying to pull herself up to standing on everything.  She was finally able to do it, and we got a phone call from the school saying she bumped her head while she was standing in the crib.  All this time, Alana has been hesitant to crawl.  Jeff and I have known that she can crawl a long time ago, but she just didn't have the confidence to do it yet.  Well, she figured it out!

The other thing that happened this past weekend, she got her first tooth!  She was smiling and I saw something white on her gums.  I felt in there and sure enough, there was a little tooth poking out!

Our little one is surely growing right before our eyes.

Alana sits up on her own!

Alana has started to rock back and forth on her arms and legs in the crawling position.  She has been trying to sit up for a long time, and he finally learned how to do it!  After the first time she did it, she wouldn't stop.  We can no longer keep her on her back.

She has also learned how to drink from a sippy cup!  We used a cup that you can squeeze to help the liquid up a straw.  She likes the straw better because she hasn't figured out that she has to tilt her head back to drink.

Alana babbles

This week (November 12), Alana started to talk a lot more.  She is combining different sounds and making more than just "aaah" sounds.  It's starting to sound more like words and sentences.  In fact, this morning it sounded like she said "yabadaba doo!"  hmmm... that gives me an idea for next Halloween.  It is hard to believe she is now 8 months old!

She seems to have gone through a growth spurt in the past few days.  I had to put away all of her 6mos, 9mos and 6-12mos clothes!  She grew taller, and rounder.  So now she is wearing size 12-18mos.  It's hard because the pants are really long for her, but the waist is just the right size.  I can't belive she is going to be 8 months old in a few days.

She still rolls over to her tummy, and has a hard time rolling back.  She can do it, but she usually has one arm stuck under her.  She basically sleeps on her stomach now, because I can't keep up with her tossing and turning in the middle of the night.  She loves to stand now, but she needs support getting up and standing.

Alana's First Halloween

Halloween was a fun time for us.  This year, we decided to dress up as Princess Jasmine & Aladdin, with Alana being Abu the Monkey.  We had a great party at Jeff's house and invited many of our friends.  It was surprising that so many people were willing to drive over the hill to come to our party, but that just shows what great friends we have.

Alana had a great time playing guitar hero with Auntie Vivi.  As usual, Alana was very good and did not complain at all about having so many people around.  There were other babies there as well.  Sherman brought his son Nathan over, and he was also a monkey!  He was a trooper, and stayed until the very end of the party.  Amy brought Daphne over dressed up as a ladybug.  It was very cute.  Lots of people from our pool league came out and we were able to take a group picture.
