Alana - Month 2

Alana officially turned two months old yesterday.  She has been growing so fast, we can't believe our eyes!   Her latest thing is she is now smiling at people, and she is starting to coo and she tries to talk a little bit.  When she is alert, she looks around the room and she loves having conversations with her monkey stuffed animals.

Today, we went to the doctors for her two month shots.  She had a total of four shots.  I felt nervous and scared for her!  She was so happy at the office before the dreaded shots.  She was so upset after!  But being the good girl she is, she did not take long to calm down.  Jeff held her right away and she calmed down almost immediately.  When we got home, it was a different story.  I think she can still feel the pain from the shots, because she has not been a happy camper.

She weighs a total of 13 pounds now... she is in the 95th percentile for her weight!

Our first family trip

This past weekend we took our first family trip to Las Vegas.  Jeff had to play in a pool tournament.  He did awesome!  He placed 17th in the National pool tournament.  We are very proud of him because he practiced so hard to prepare for this tournament.  I am glad we were able to go there to support him.

As for Alana, I had no idea what to expect  traveling with her.  I wasn't sure how she was going to handle the long car ride.  I didn't know if I would even be able to leave the hotel room with her.  It turned out that she was really good.  She slept the whole way down, except when we woke her up to eat.  When we got to Vegas, I was afraid she was going to stay up all night because she slept all day.  On the contrary, she continued to sleep through the night - the longest sleep ever of 5 hours!  During the day, I just fed her and when it was time to go down to watch Jeff play I put her in the Bjorn and she fell asleep almost immediately.  Everybody gave us compliments and thought she was so cute.
